Described by Louisa May Alcott in Chapter X, "The P.C. and P.O," of Little Women, the Little Women Garden has been a perennial (pardon the pun!) favorite of visitors, Staff, and neighbors alike. In 2020, the garden was expanded in conjunction with the installation of an accessible pathway that wends its way through our historic landscape -- from the front parking area to The School of Philosophy. The new Little Women Garden will continue to provide a beautiful, hopeful spot for rest, contemplation, and joy. We hope you enjoy the following information and images -- perhaps they will inspire you to grow your own version of this garden!
The slideshow below displays botanical illustrations of the flowers in the Little Women Garden, as well as photographs from the garden's expansion in 2020. Set to "autoplay" each image for 10 seconds, the slideshow may be stopped and started by clicking on a thumbnail image. Enjoy!
