All donations support education and preservation efforts at Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House, "The Home of Little Women" (and so much more!) in Historic Concord, Massachusetts -- one of the most beloved and authentically maintained historic sites in the country for over 100 years. Private contributions enable us to literally keep our doors open so future generations may continue to discover the incredible legacy of the Alcott family and the invaluable life lessons of Little Women.
Our offerings for public and private schools, as well as homeschooling families, enhance the study of history, provide stewardship opportunities, and even support cultural exchange initiatives with our Japanese "Sister City," Nanae
Highly interactive Living History tours, programs, and special events are lively, enjoyable ways to make the past accessible to intergenerational local, national, and international audiences
Scout programming not only fulfills badge requirements, but encourages study of the past to enrich the future, and develops awareness of the vital importance of advocating for personal agency and social justice
Adult and teacher education opportunities attract scholars from around the world, keeping the Alcott educational legacy vibrant in and relevant for today's world
From repairing a 350-year-old structure to installing innovative climate control technology and re-creating our historic landscape, Orchard House sustains itself and planet Earth

Beloved WCVB-TV Chronicle co-host Mary Richardson (1945-2021) was a passionate supporter of Orchard House for decades, and served on our Board of Directors as well. We and so many others still keenly feel the loss of such a talented, kind, and generous individual, and wish to share this heartfelt video tribute in fond remembrance of her (select 1080p for best playback quality).
