Wee Forest Folk is a
small local family business begun by Mrs. Annette Petersen over 30 years
ago. Mrs. Petersen’s devotion to producing the
highest-quality collectibles grew to incorporate helping the historic
sites in Concord she dearly loved with figurines exclusively designed
for them to sell. Inspiration for Orchard House’s “Scrabble” came
straight from Little Women (Chapter 14, “Secrets”):
Jo was very busy in the garret … while Scrabble,
the pet rat, promenaded the beams overhead, accompanied by his oldest
son, a fine
young fellow,
who was evidently very proud of his whiskers. ...
More than a dozen production
steps
-- including meticulous hand-painting -- are required to manufacture
each piece. These figurines are real little gems, treasured by
generations of collectors and Little Women fans. With the famous Wee Forest Folk box and card
- and "special handling" from Orchard House!
